The first week we focus on the relational process of leaders discerning what God is asking the people to do. The storyline involves God telling David it’s time for a Temple to be built and God lays out how David is to plan for and organize the effort, even though he is NOT the one who will do the ultimate building. In terms of our Church Mission and Vision, the natural conversation here involves the process that is used by the Lead Pastor, the Church Staff and Church Council to discern what community needs God is pointing us toward. We will talk about the concept of “legacy” – the idea that we (like King David) are often called upon to prepare and plan for things that impact the future more than our own personal experience..... “leaving a legacy” in God’s name to ensure the Church continues to be a place that brings glory and honor to God through future generations.
